What is a Chakra?
What is a Chakra, or Energy Wheel, as they are sometimes called?
Chakras are often described as energy centers within the body that influence both physical and emotional well‑being. While the concept comes from ancient traditions, many people today explore chakras as a way to better understand the connection between mind, body, and spirit.
There are seven main chakras, each linked to specific colors, organs, and even musical notes. These are the ones most often discussed in yoga, meditation, and energy practices. However, some traditions describe additional chakras — sometimes 11 or 12 along the spine, and in certain systems as many as 114 throughout the body.
